FLi Artists mourns the passing of Peter Yarrow, whom we represented for several years. We keep fond memories of the wonderful gatherings that he hosted in his Upper West Side apartment, full of music from around the world and Chinese food from down the block. Irish fiddle and bodhran would mix with Gnawan sitar from Morocco and Tibetan chant.
At the 1966 Newport Folk Festival, Peter hosted a “New Folks” concert that featured several FLi artists, including our future president, Mitch Greenhill. That was an early connection to Peter’s edgy energy, his quest for artistic excellence, and his commitment to social justice.
We send condolences to his family, particularly daughter Bethany Yarrow, whom we also represented.
